Press the 'EFNT / ETAB' button to assign new font and tabs settings to your files. A preferences dialog will let you choose the text font and size, the number of spaces for each tab and the width (in points) of each space.
If you press the 'Exit' button, no operation will take place and you will exit to the Finder.
If you press the 'Change Resources' button, all the 'TEXT' files contained in the folder (but not those in folders within this folder) will be modified and your preferences will be recorded in the System Folder.
